If you have a new business and indeed a new website – you’ll want to drive as much relevant traffic to it as possible. Generally, to get large volumes of high quality traffic, you need your site to perform well in search engines. That’s where S.E.O (search engine optimization) and link building comes into play.
You need as many links as possible connecting to your site, these are called inbound links. Even better than links from any old websites are links from related websites. That’s trickier to achieve as they are generally your competition.
But that’s not the end of the story. Good quality links are those which have some of the keywords in the anchor text which relate to your site. So for example, if you have a new website which sells books on how to make plants grow, a link looking like this - how to make plants grow will give your website masses more search engine respect than a link looking like this - click here even though they both may point to your website. Notice how when you hover the first link, the title appears “how to make plants grow”, this is because the title attribute of the link is set to the keyword or phrase – I think it adds a bit more Google Juice as I call it.
So how to get these links on other sites. Well, that's the million dollar question. But check out cloudkeyword.com, this website allows you to do just that – define a website or webpage in less than 40 characters, it then adds this keyword link to its database and displays it on many of its pages. The site has just been launched and so, if you’re quick you’ll be able to catch the introductory price offer of £5, which believe me is pittance for links of this quality pointing to your website.
Give it a go, Google will love you for it…
